Born in 1909 in Agaie, Sheikh Abdul Kadir “Zaria” was a man filled with all aspect of Islamic knowledge (Fiqhu, Nahwu, Balaga, Sarfu, Tawheed, Lugga, Mantiq, Qur’an and Hadith)
Sheikh Abdul Kadir, was amongst those Scholars in the early days to accept and bow to the maqam of Sheikh Alhaji Ibrahim Niasse RTA, and upon that he was the reason why Sheikh Ibrahim Niasse RTA came to Zaria for Ziyaara.
Sheikh Abdul Kadir, lived his life teaching and spreading/propagating Islam and Tariqa, he as well authored a lot of books and amongst some of his notable students were:
Sheikh Idris Fogun Bida
Sheikh M. Nasiru Sheikh Abdulkadir Zaria
Sheikh Fadalu Gwargwaje
Sheikh M.Sani Dandume
Including Sheikh Tahiru Usman Bauchi RTA, who spent time under the guidance and teachings of Sheikh to learn Ma’arifa and as well go through his Azkarul Tarbiyya.
And amongst his notable children are :
Khalifa Sheikh Tijjani Abdulkadir Zaria (may Allah be pleased with his soul)
Sheikh Sani Khalifa Abdulkadir Zaria (current Khalipha)
Sheikh Yusuf Abdulkadir Zaria
Sheikh Abdul Kadir was believed to have passed on in the year 1980.
May Allah on this day as we remember Sheikh, increase Sheikh in maqam and bless us all with his blessings.
May Allah enshroud his mercy on him.
