SHEIKH SHARIF UMAR HAIDARA: GRANDSON OF SHAIKH TIJANI & BAYE NIASS

- He is Sheikh Umar ibn Sidi Muhammad al-Habib ibn Sidi Mahmoud ibn Sidi Bashir ibn Sidi Muhammad al-Habib ibn Sheikh Sidi Ahmad Tidjani.

- His mother is Sayda Oumou Khayri Bint Sheikh Ibrahim Niasse.

- He was born in Sheikh Ibrahim's Bedroom in Medina Baye on the 15th Rajab, same birthday as Sheikh Ibrahim.

- He was born in 1958 the year when Sheikh Ibrahim expanded the mosque in Medina Baye, and all of the Sheikhs of Senegal attended his Aqeeqah, Seydi Nourou Tall, Alhaji Abdul Aziz Sy, etc.

- Sheikh Ibrahim wanted to name him Sheikh Tijani but His father and seydi Nourou Tall named him Sheikh Oumar after Sheikh Oumar Fouti Taal. However all his life Sheikh Ibrahim would just call him Sheikh Tijani.

- He is the first descendant of Sheikh Ahmad Tijani (including Shaikh Ahmad Tijanis own children) to memorise the Quran, which he did with the famous Rabbani family of Medina Baye/Mauritania under Sheikh Ibrahim's instruction.

- He grew up in Medina Baye with his Grandfather Sheikh Ibrahim and went on Hajj with him twice. Many stories in those two journeys.

- Shaikh Tahir Bauchi narrated that one year, when he was a baby Sheikh Ibrahim Niasse presented him to the Emir of Zaria, who was known for his love of shurafa and said to him "If you love Sharifs then this is a great day for you, becuase this baby is a pure Sharif who's Grandfather Rasulullah told me that there is nobody in between me and him except Shaikh Ahmad Tijani".

Shaykh Ibrahim used to ask him to pray for rain also....even though he was a child!

Yes! It was during a drought in Medina Baye, Baye told the everyone to gather hadiya and present it to Sharif so he can pray for rain. As soon as they have him the Hadiya and he took it into his room, it started raining and didn't stop for Days

Sheikh Ibrahim sometimes also used to send people with urgent or hefty needs to him, all while he was still young.

When he was a baby and also a young child sheikh Ibrahim took him on Hajj and carried him on his shoulders as he made tawaf.
